• Composite Resin – Also known as “white filling,” this compound mixture of plastic and ceramic is often used to fill front teeth because it closely resembles real teeth. In the past, the composite resin wasn’t considered strong enough to resist the grinding of back teeth, but recent advances have made the composite resin compound stronger, making it a great alternative to amalgam fillings.
• Porcelain – This is also used for crowns. Porcelain is strong and durable, and it can be made to look like a natural tooth.
